two things become official tonight
1. the Knicks signed Odom to a two year deal. this way they can evaluate him in offseason. if he can’t get back to old form, then he’ll be cut
2. ESPN is officially dealing with some black magic… accurately predicting the exact amount of wins the Knicks would have this season. unfortunately they thought 37 wins was enough for the 7th seed.
Game: 82nd of Season, 4th of 4 Against Raptors (Series 1-2)
LASSSTTT game of the season
need one more win to prove ESPN exactly right on how many wins we’d have this season
would be nice to end the season with a W
Shumpert - man… was he impressive against the Nets -looks like the guys were just having fun out there
Prediction: Knicks 105, Raptors 91
Prediction Record: 42-39
not 100% Knicks related but interesting to see what the average player makes for every professional team around the globe.
the Knicks rank 12th!
number one is Man City (EPL)
Lots of Shump
Q:See how good Murray & Tyler can be when they actually get playing time!???
hahah, yea - also absolutely no pressure to perform - that certainly helps
Game: 81st of Season, 4th of 4 Against Nets (Series 2-1)
Betting Line: Nets favored by 6.5
ESPN Spread Pick: Knicks
Second to last game of the season - Melo is done for the next two games resting his injured shoulder and Amar’e most likely will sit also.
Woody said that Murray and Tyler will get some heavy minutes tonight.
Unless the Nets sit their guys as well - can’t really expect a win tonight.
Blah… these last two games are going to suck
Prediction: Nets 110, Knicks 95
Prediction Record: 42-38
Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks are progressing toward a deal to sign veteran free agent Lamar Odom before the NBA regular season ends Wednesday, according to sources briefed on the situation.
The point of signing him now is to be able to work with Odom in the off-season and see if he’ll be in any shape to contribute next season. The 2nd year on this deal is not-guaranteed.. so if the summer goes poorly, the Knicks can just cut him.
Potentially Phil’s first move - interesting.
Since we don’t have cap space or draft picks this off-season, Phil is going to need to get creative with altering the roster. Not sure how this is going to pan out, but it’s a no risk opportunity.
