Final Score: HEAT 102, Knicks 88
Record: 17-18 (2nd in Atlantic, 7th in Eastern Conference)
Current Streak: Lost 1
The Knicks, namely Jeremy Lin, were not prepared for how much bigger, quicker and longer Miami’s defense is compared to any other team in the league. Lin just looked flat out scared/flustered, coughing up the ball repeatedly.
Check this stat line out, Miami finished with 10 blocks, 12 steals and 46 rebounds.
Compare that to the Knicks 3 blocks, 9 steals and 41 rebounds.
Miami just wanted this game more.
Turnovers and second chance points killed us. It didn’t seem like any Knick out there actually WANTED to grab a rebound. There was a whole lot of looking around when the shot went up and rebounds just fell into our laps.
I thought we had a chance after the first half. Even though we turned the ball over a whopping 15 times in the first half, we were only down by four points. The Knicks were doing a good job on defense preventing Miami from going on that back-breaking run.
Second half was a different story. Miami did go on those runs.
This game just shows that we still have a long way to go. We’re on the right track, but the team needs contributions from everyone, especially from our star players, to have any chance against the HEAT. After a strong first half, Amar’e simply just disappeared.
Our point guards (Lin & Davis) combined to go for 1-18 from the field and only 6 assists. Not a good look.
Simply put, the Knicks played scared tonight.
All-star break time. Need these days off to prepare because the second half of the season is going to be tough. Out of all the teams in the league, we have the toughest schedule.
Next game is Wednesday against Cleveland.
KNOTEWORHTY KNICK OF THE GAME: Carmelo Anthony. We got what we wanted out of Melo but Lin and Amar’e just didn’t have enough - 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block

Sheesh, tough one man. Can’t wait to see how Lin bounces back from his first “bad” game. All star break should help him out, If the media doesn’t over do it.
