Q:favorite knickerbocker of all time?
For one, he was insane… in a good way. Starks played with a ton of passion and pretty much left everything on the floor each game.
Second, he LOVED playing in New York. I remember every time he knocked down a big shot he pulled on his jersey to show the “New York” on front.
Either that, or he pulled his jersey to the side and pounded on his heart.
Also, it pained him when he got traded to the Bulls. He refused to play for them.
Last, hard to not admire the guy. Went un-drafted, played in the CBA, worked his butt off to finally earn a roster spot with the Warriors. But, he got cut a year later.
The Knicks worked him out and the rest is history.
