JR Smith’s Buzzer Beater Puts Down ‘Cats, On to Miami…

Final Score: Knicks 100, Bobcats 98

Record: 13-4
Current Streak: Won 4

JR motha f*ckin Smith!

But hold on, JR, how do you not go to the basket on that fast-break to win the game after you deflected it?

But … step back, fadeaway… buzzer beater, see ya ‘Cats

Off to Miami.

All’s well that ends well, right?

Postgame Knotes

  • Called out Ray vs. Kemba as the key matchup in the pre-game write-up and those two didn’t disappoint. Ray finished with 17 points and 9 assists, Kemba finished with 25 points and 11 assists. Both attacked constantly throughout the game.
  • W2W - One, focus sort of in and out (definitely IN at the end). Two, MKG lived up to the hype I guess. Tough guy to keep in front of you. Terrible looking shot.
  • Knicks had absolutely no interior defense tonight, it felt like they gave up 70 points in there. It was like Chandler didn’t want to exert himself because he knew there was a big game tomorrow night.
  • Woody did a good job managing minutes with the Heat coming up.
  • That 6 minutes stretch (missing 11 shots in a row) in the third was BRUTAL.
  • Ben Gordon, I hate you. You too Gerald Henderson.
  • Lots of missed 3-pters… took 41, 41! three pointers - I guess the Bobcats strategy was to just double Melo and let any Knick just jack up the three. It almost worked… almost.
  • Melo, 20 points in a second half, pretty much unstoppable. Second half? Held without a field goal until 2:30 left in the game. Then cut his finger while diving into the stands. Should be fine for tomorrow night.
  • Man, glad to have Jason Kidd back on the floor.

Terrible game JR, but thank you. You’re earning this nickname of JR Starks, haha

KNOTEWORTHY KNICK OF THE GAME: JR had the heroics, but Tyson Chandler was there all night… at least on offense and on the glass - 18 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.
