Q:when is the best time to buy tickets for a game at home? is it better to buy them last minute (idk if they're cheaper or not although you have a chance of not even getting them bc they're sold out) or buy them as soon as they go on sale or buy them at MSG? I'm asking you this because you've been a fan since you were very young so I thought maybe you'd have some background info on this! :)
Thanks for the question!
Best price you’ll get is most likely at MSG’s box office or through ticket master. Doesn’t really matter what time you buy these tickets because the prices are pretty much set with direct purchases.
If tickets are sold out, then would need to hit the secondary market with StubHub or Craigslist. It’s hit or miss with these places. Some folks will sell their tickets at face value, others may try to make some profit on it. Prices on these really depend on the game. A Knicks/Heat or Knicks/Lakers game is going to cost more than a Knicks/Bucks or Knicks/Wizards.
Last resort? Scalpers in front of MSG. Price will definitely vary here… and it may be illegal too? haha.
Hope this helped.
I always think the earlier you get a ticket, the better.
If anyone else knows anything different feel free to chime in!
