After Slow Start, Knicks Blitz Kings with 40-4 Run, Win By 39
Final Score: Knicks 120, Kings 81
Record: 30-15 (1st in Atlantic, Tied for 1st in Eastern Conference)
Current Streak: Won 4
That was more of the oddest first quarters I’ve seen in awhile. After scoring about 3 points in the first 4 minutes of the game, the Knicks basically flipped a switch and went on a 40-4 run.
And it was all sparked by good ball movement and more impressively, Amar’e Stoudemire. The guy was unstoppable tonight… had his own personal dunk contest.
Seeing Tyson, STAT and Melo play so well together brings a huge smile to my face. THIS is what it was supposed to look like!
Post Game Knotes:
- Not all happy news, Melo’s 20+ point streak came to an end (31 games). But, it was nice seeing him as a facilitator (5 Assists).. caught a little new-Kobe there.
- Tyson is on a rebounding tear, second straight game with 20 or more rebounds.
- Ha, nice three point celebration there JR… was that Elvis you were channeling with that air guitar celebration? I think Elvis, right? Can’t remember.
- #MobbDeep back in full force - bench scored 82 of the 120 points tonight.
- So many three-pointers, 19 in total: Nine different Knicks hit a three led by JR’s 7 and Novak’s 5 … even Kurt Thomas hit one (his finger point after the shot to the bench was pure gold)
- At one point, the Knicks led by 50.
Over/Under Game Results: No Winners.
- Melo 29 Points: Under (9)
- Cousins 18 Points: Over (25)
- Thomas 4 Assists: Over (6)
- Knicks 40 Rebounds: Over (52)
- Knicks 75% FT %: Under (53.8%)
Payback’s a bitch, ha… sorry Kings.
KNOTEWORHTY KNICK OF THE GAME: JR had an incredible game, but I’m giving it to STAT - full on beast mode tonight. I can’t remember the last time he missed a shot: 21 points (10-10 from the field), 6 rebounds
