Recent Trade Rumors

I wanted to stay away from some of the recent rumors being reported, but I thought I’d just share the info of what is actually going on around the NBA regarding the Knicks.

Two rumors surround Shumpert - one has him going to Phoenix for Jared Dudley. The other has him going to Utah for Paul Milsap.

The other rumor involves the T’Wolves - Brewer and Novak for Ridnour.

Two things to keep in mind with EVERY trade rumor.

1. Why would the other team want to make this deal - you can’t look at trades from just the Knicks perspective. For instance the Wolves trade - why the hell would the Wolves want Steve Novaks terrible contract? And, Ronnie Brewer who has been playing miserably over the past couple of months.

2. Does the trade work financially - with the Shumpert trades, they don’t … other players would need to be involved and I don’t see that happening. In both instances, the player coming in makes a lot more money than Shumpert. The salaries have to match withing 10% or 15%, can’t remember.

But, where there is smoke there is fire I guess.

It appears the Knicks are throwing out some names and trying to gauge interest on a few players.

The deals beings reported right now, just don’t make sense.

I’m okay with trading someone, just as long as it makes the team better and doesn’t mess with chemistry - you lose that chemistry - you don’t win in this league.

  1. hawkssky said: I hope they don’t trade Shumpert, it’s only been like a month since he’s come back. I mean give him some time to adjust. Novak has been on a slump and is getting heavily guarded now so the team needs to make play for him to get open more.
