To admit that I’m one of the very few people out there that think that the Iman Shumpert pick was the right one. If you’ve been reading other coverage, man… they are going absolutely nuts that the Knicks didn’t pick Singleton.
Relax guys… relax.
Iman will pan out. I don’t know how many times I have to write it, but he is going to be legit.
My feelings? Defense starts at the point guard position. If you don’t have a guy that can guard the opposing teams play caller, then you are going to have a problem. Chris Paul feeds off chumps that can’t prevent point guard penetration.
We had a major problem with that last year. We were fine guarding wing players, but point guards were too much to handle. Donnie did the right thing to try to alleviate that problem.
We weren’t supposed to hit a homerun with this pick. We have two allstars; the Knicks just need pieces to compliment them. Iman does that.
I’m excited to see these guys play together.
